It appears to me that the braintree district housing policy needs shaking up !
born and bred in braintree and been on the so called housing list since 2001.
Am i right in thinking that smack heads and alcoholics are given preference over the working tax payers of this district ?
you charge me £180 per month council tax and collect my rubbish once a fortnight, its about time you gave me the option of some affordable housing.
please vote on how long you have been on the list, can anyone beat mine ?
Confused

Braintree bloke,

Yes what you've said is true, instead of prioritising low paid workers for housing first, everyone else is put ahead of workers.

When i've dealt with Braintree council in respect of housing matters i've always found them rude, ignorant and unhelpful. On more than one occasion they've mislead and deceived me.

Failed organisations like New Directions, Bramble Court and The Foyer are part of the problem and exacerbate the situation by providing housing to people who don't have the emotional capabilty to appreciate what they've been given anyway.

Speak to the housing charity Shelter who may be able to assist you.

Workers first!
